The heart of EDH FlightScope's tennis scoring equipment is the handheld scoring system for chair umpires. With wired or wireless connections, scoring of points are captured and distributed in real time to scoreboards, television broadcasters, and other displays and media channels. This automation eliminates the need for any additional scoring staff for example for TV and other media. The scoring system is licensed to the ATP and WTA as the official chair umpire scorer.
FlightScope provides a complete tennis event management software suite for sports measurement and the management of entries, draws, match scheduling, scoring and scorecard printing. The software is licensed to major users such as the ATP, WTA, ITF as well as major championships, and can be supplied as a service to any individual tennis tournament.
FlightScope® supplies video walls in different sizes and styles to help meet the needs of any event and allow spectators to always feel part of the main event. Video walls are perfect for providing network programming, stadium fixed camera live feeds, daily announcements, advertising, highlights from past events, live or recorded interviews, current match scores, results of the day, schedule of play, weather and security alerts.
FlightScope offers full colour, bright detail and animation options for the display of the match time and clocks along with tennis scoring. Space on the display units are provided for sponsored logos
FlightScope's proprietary data distribution protocol (available as a public specification) transfers the score data from the umpire's chair to different authorized data users such as scoreboards, closed circuit TV displays, television broadcasters and news agencies. By easy extension the protocol also feeds live scores from all courts, including serve speed and ball track data (if chosen) to the Web in real time.
Pertinent service data is automatically calculated by the chair umpire tennis scoring equipment. Additional second level statistics such as winners, volleys, forced and unforced errors are collected, and transmitted to display boards and screens, and TV media.
FlightScope is the only serve speed sports measurement system certified by the ITF as accurate for all serves. FlightScope was first used at the Stella Artois championships in 2001. Apart from immediate serve speed display on courtside displays, serve speed and ball tracking data are also integrated with the scoring system's data protocol and distributed to other display devices, television broadcast and graphics producers, and other media.
FlightScope® scoreboards and display units include a range from the most basic to the top performing full colour animated content which is brilliantly viewed during day or night. FlightScope's team can assist in presenting the best images tailored to individual tennis events, including the event logo and sponsored logos. This enhances sponsor value and increases revenue potential for the event.
