Indoor & Outdoor Setup

Outdoor Setup
FlightScope is very easy to set up and requires merely alignment behind the ball, in line with the target. No special needs are equired for calibration and the setup is very repeatable, even in different weather conditions.

FlightScope Indoor Setup

To get the most reliable and accurate data when using FlightScope indoors, please ensure that the following requirements are met:

Distance Requirements
The distance from the tee to the hitting net should not be less than 13-14 ft. The distance from the tee to the FlightScope Sensor should be 8 - 10 ft.

Environmental Requirements
Please ensure that there are no obstructions between the FlightScope Sensor and the tee. Ideally fluorescent lights should be avoided; incandescent, halogen or sodium lights are acceptable. If the location has fluorescent lights, aluminium insect screen available from any hardware store (Lowe's or The Home Depot) can be used to screen the lights. Also ensure that there are no other apparatus that could cause electrical interference, for example fans, air conditioners, etc nearby.

Metal Stickers for direct spin measurement
Due to the short ball flight distance in an indoor installation, FlightScope requires that the ball be marked with a metal sticker to get accurate spin readings. Only one sticker is required per ball. The golf ball is placed with the sticker facing the screen, away from the clubface.
